As a child (early 80's) I was interested in stamp collecting.  John was my Godfather and helped stoke my interest by buying me all the "first day covers" of stamps for about three years.  I have fond memories of chatting stamps in his living room.  For some reason I'll always remember his accent and excellent moustache!
